How Much Wedding Cake Is Needed
There are a few points you need to consider when deciding on your wedding cake. Colour, style and the number of guests you are catering for. Generally the cake is given as part of the wedding favours, and is usually just a sample/token for the guests to taste. To this end I have found that 2.5 cm (1″) * 4 cm(1.5″) in an acceptable size. With these measurements in mind below is an outline of the amount of cake that would be suitable to feed different numbers o guests. Alternatively a trend that has become quite popular in recent years is to have one small cake fo the ceremonial cutting along with individual mini cakes or cup cakes.

If you are catering for a larger number of guests, it’s a idea to keep your main cake at a reasonable size and then have addtional cakes, often known as kitchen/sheet cakes, that can be cut and served to your guests as well.
Remember this is just a guide line.
